Hamilton, who teaches the courses.  “In selecting iCONECT’s XERA, I appreciated the quick, can-do way the iCONECT executive team pitched in to supply instructional material, credentials for each student. It’s great for the students to work with real-world data in their search and review exercises and it’s an added bonus for them to have the ability to do their work virtually from both Mac and PC devices.”.

UF Law students taking electronic discovery courses receive a head start in developing eDiscovery skills that entails an understanding of case law, practical problems, and technology solutions. Students explore information technology, learn to “speak geek” and acquire hands-on, practical training in finding electronic evidence, meeting preservation duties, guarding against spoliation, selecting forms of production and managing the vast volume and variety of digital data and metadata.  The courses also review federal rules and eDiscovery case law with regard to the challenges presented by information technology and computer forensics and evolving case law.

“XERA is already used for some of the largest legal review projects in the world, so what better software for the students to learn,” says Iram Arras, Vice President of Product Strategy for iCONECT. “iCONECT’s XERA document review platform is designed to be very powerful, yet user-friendly and intuitive.  Being a part of course curriculum development is vital to teaching best practices and preparing students to deal with complex projects after graduation.”
