iCONECT’s Ian Campbell to lead Workshop on Video use in Legal cases at “Technology in Practice” Conference

iCONECT Development, LLC, a technology leader that develops intuitive, web-based e-discovery software, including its flagship review platform iCONECT-XERA®, is pleased to announce its participation in a Technology Workshop at the Technology in Practice 2016 Conference in Toronto. iCONECT President and CEO, Ian Campbell will be presenting “The New Smoking Gun”  Technology Workshop to look at how audio and video evidence impacts legal cases on Friday, November 4, 2016 at 1:00pm at the Toronto Four Seasons Hotel. Hosted by Commonwealth Legal, a division of Ricoh Canada Inc., Technology in Practice is an annual litigation conference that provides educational and practical content for Canadian legal professionals.

Digital multimedia evidence such as CCTV, surveillance, police body camera, smartphone and dash-cam videos and audio sources are becoming more common as key components in the review of case materials. This session will explore how to load, review, tag and manage different media types all the way from source to production including a look at unique ways to search, redact, recognize faces, create clips and notations – all while managing the privacy concerns of these unique forms of evidence.

“Managing email and other traditional ediscovery sources in a legal case is something we’re all very familiar with however, as more video and audio evidence makes its way into the collection, some of those workflows have to adapt.” said Campbell, iCONECT’s CEO. “We are excited to have the opportunity to truly “show” our XERA review platform as a way to manage this new aspect of case evidence.”

One of the true pioneers in e-discovery and document review technology, Ian Campbell has spent the past two decades developing litigation support tools and consulting on major legal and discovery projects worldwide. He is a frequent writer and speaker and has shared his experiences and expertise at dozens of events, including LegalTech, ILTA, AIIM, Masters Conference and the University of Florida E-Discovery Conference.
