iCONECT Development LLC, a technology leader that develops intuitive, web-based e-discovery software, today announced that it is partnering with the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) as part of the company’s pro bono initiative. Litigation is one of the SPLC’s key strategies for battling racial and social injustice, and iCONECT-XERA® will allow it to manage all their matters in-house. iCONECT is providing the SPLC with XERA Licensing for use on pro bono cases at no cost.
SPLC was founded in 1971 by civil rights lawyers Morris Dees and Joseph Levin Jr. and battles hate and bigotry, and seeks justice for the most vulnerable members of our society. The SPLC fights racial and social injustice through education, advocacy and litigation, specifically by launching lawsuits aimed at winning systematic reforms on behalf of victims of “inequality and discrimination” and “children at risk” in the areas of hate, extremism, immigrant justice and LGBT rights.
“We are extremely proud to be able to arm the Southern Poverty Law Center with tools to help them seek justice for those who need it most,” says Ian Campbell, President & CEO at iCONECT. “The whole idea behind our pro bono program is to increase accessibility to top-shelf technology.”
The SPLC’s case docket is full of dozens or hundreds of complex cases at any given time. iCONECT-XERA is designed to empower legal teams to maximize productivity through its easy to-navigate interface, enhanced social collaboration, and remote accessibility. By leveraging iCONECT-XERA’s intuitive, multi-browser, hosted review platform, SPLC legal professionals will have unprecedented understanding of and control over their matters.
The SPLC chose iCONECT-XERA over other platforms in part because its advanced analytics, which includes a predictive review tool, which will enable it to decrease search time, increase quality and minimize overall litigation costs. The tool provides the SPLC with the flexibility to maximize efficiencies, which in turn allow it to better fulfill its mission.
“As a nonprofit legal advocacy organization specializing in public interest litigation, we very much appreciate that we can license iCONECT-XERA at no charge as part of iCONECT’s pro bono initiative,” says Wendy Via, Chief Development & Communications Officer at the Southern Poverty Law Center. “ Not only is the cost savings meaningful, but the tool will help us be more efficient and effective in our ongoing efforts to seek justice for the most vulnerable members of our society.”
